Redevelopment

The Newark Housing Authority has plans on the drawing board for the redevelopment of Brick Towers and the Martin Luther King Boulevard corridor as well as properties in the downtown arena district. Included in the redevelopment of the Martin Luther King Boulevard corridor is the current construction of Montgomery Heights. This is an 80-unit mixed-income development with approximately 10,000 square feet of retail space. The design of this building enhances the current historical architectural design of the homes in the neighborhood. It is just the beginning of paying homage to the legacy of a prominent figure in this Nation’s history.
