NEW VISION FOR BRICK TOWERS

Keith D. Kinard, Executive Director announced a new vision for Brick Towers last October 25, 2006. The new vision includes plans for constructing three magnificent buildings having mixed income rental housing, retail and office space, and underground parking. Mr. Kinard hails this as a ”win-win” for all parties. “The residents of the Central Ward can look forward to three magnificent new buildings in their community; HUD is satisfied that a former dilapidated building is being demolished; the City of Newark participates in a development project that will spur economic growth in one of its leading neighborhoods; and the Authority demonstrates its continuing commitment to providing the best quality housing in the City of Newark and the County of Essex.
