We believe in fostering strong partnerships with businesses and vendors. Our business section provides all the essential information you need to collaborate with us, from understanding our bidding guidelines to accessing bid opportunities through the Bidnet Direct platform. Whether you're a landlord or a vendor, our login portals ensure seamless and efficient interactions. Last year alone, we facilitated over 500 successful bids, creating numerous opportunities for local businesses.

Comprehensive Support Programs Assisting Over 10,000 Families in Newark, Including Public Housing, Vouchers, Emergency Housing, and Client Services

We offer a variety of programs and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our community. Our public housing program, housing choice voucher program (Section 8), and emergency housing vouchers provide essential support for those in need. Additionally, we offer client services and language access documents to ensure everyone can access the help they need. Learn about your rights and responsibilities as a participant in our programs. Currently, we assist over 10,000 families through our various programs.

Services:

  • Public Housing Program

    The Public Housing Program provides safe and affordable rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities. These housing units are managed by local public housing agencies, ensuring that tenants have access to necessary resources and support services.

  • Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)

    The Housing Choice Voucher Program, commonly known as Section 8, assists very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled in affording decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Participants receive vouchers that cover a portion of their rent, with the remainder paid directly to landlords by local public housing agencies.

  • Emergency Housing Vouchers

    Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs) are designed to help individuals and families who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or fleeing domestic violence. These vouchers provide immediate housing assistance, prioritizing the most vulnerable populations to ensure they have safe and stable living conditions.

  • Client Services

    Client Services encompass a wide range of support and resources provided to individuals and families seeking housing assistance. These services include housing counseling, financial literacy education, job training, and access to community resources, all aimed at helping clients achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
